Elliot Page introduces fans to Viktor Hargreeves ahead of Umbrella Academy season 3

Following Elliot Page's December 2020 announcement that he is transgender and goes by the pronouns 'he/they', the actor has just confirmed that his character in the next season of The Umbrella Academy will also reflect his transition, and will go by the name Viktor Hargreeves.

"Meet Viktor Hargreeves," Elliot posted alongside a photo from season three of the show, with The A.V. Club confirming that the character 'will come out as transgender in season 3' – though they haven't shared any further info than that.

Meanwhile, The Umbrella Academy's official social channels replied that, "WE LOVE YOU VIKTOR", while Gerard Way also posted the new image of Elliot as Viktor and wrote: "Everyone say hello to Viktor Hargreeves."

All 10 episodes of The Umbrella Academy season three will hit Netflix on June 22.

The full synopsis reads: "After putting a stop to 1963’s doomsday, the Umbrella Academy return home to the present, convinced they prevented the initial apocalypse and fixed this godforsaken timeline once and for all. But after a brief moment of celebration, they realise things aren’t exactly (okay, not at all) how they left them.

"Enter the Sparrow Academy.
