An exclusive look at Eagles Of Death Metal’s interview from the new issue…
Eagles Of Death Metal have opened up exclusively to Kerrang! about how they’re approaching life after Paris
In a world exclusive, the new issue of Kerrang! features a heartbreaking interview and moving photoshoot with Eagles Of Death Metal‘s Jesse Hughes and Josh Homme as they explain how their lives have been altered by the Paris terrorist attacks of Friday, November 13, 2015. Notably, the interview arrives just after the band performed an emotional set at the Olympia theatre last night (February 16) – their first headline show in Paris since the Bataclan gig that tragically claimed the lives of 89 people.
At one point during the remarkably powerful and candid interview, three months on from the tragedy, Jesse Hughes reveals to Kerrang! that he believes he was the first person who clocked what was going on that fateful night at the Bataclan when, at first, most of the fans thought the sound of gunfire was actually part of the show.
“There’s a certain thing that’s unmistakeable about impending doom, when death is on you,” says Jesse. “It took us a minute to get off the stage. I saw about seven people get shot before I got off. I knew two of the girls. I felt angry. I was yelling at one of them because they weren’t moving. They were frozen in fear. I can’t describe it. I saw fear manifest itself like a physical thing, like a blanket, and it was chaos.”
The full interview appears in this week’s Kerrang! magazine, on sale now
