Deftones will support their road crew through merch sales after the Australia/New Zealand tour was cancelled
Deftones are donating the profits from a new range of merchandise to their road crew.
The Sacramento metallers were scheduled to tour Australia and New Zealand this month, but had to postpone the dates due to the coronavirus pandemic that has halted all live music across the globe.
Of course, not touring means bands will lose income, but so too will their road crew – which is why Deftones are giving their team a helping hand through merch sales. The band will be selling the t-shirts, hoodies and vests intended for the tour of Down Under online, with proceeds going to their road crew.

"Our touring crew is essential for us to go out and do what we do for all of you," say the band. "We were crushed that we had to cancel our Australia and New Zealand run this month, and our road crew was hit hard. To show them support, we have made our intended merch line for the tour available for purchase online, and we will be giving all profits made back to our crew.

Deftones are expected to release a new album at some point in 2020. Earlier this year, they confirmed that legendary producer Terry Date would be working with the band on the follow-up to Gore.
Despite having to cancel a number of tour dates this spring and summer, Deftones are touring the United States with Gojira and Poppy later this year.
