Punishing Pittsburgh hardcore crew Code Orange have released another taste of their upcoming album, Underneath.
Title Sulfur Surrounding, it's the third single to be released from the five-piece's forthcoming full-length – following on from the title track and Swallowing The Rabbit Whole.
“Sulfur Surrounding is about your deepest relationships becoming manipulative, corrosive and eventually hopeless," says vocalist Jami Morgan. "Haunted by chemical compulsion. Fading into the depressive cycle. Another step on our journey under. The song showcases another stylistic dip on the rollercoaster that is Underneath. Soon all will become clear.”
Underneath will be released on March 13 via Roadrunner Records. Speaking to Kerrang! earlier this year about the story that holds the record together, Jami said the album is about duality.
"It’s about having to face yourself and having to face ourselves as a society in this super overcrowded, overexposed, totally all-consuming digital-based world that we live in, plus all the feelings, insecurities and consequences of living lives based on screens. It goes into different elements of how the world we’re living in affects people’s psyche and causes them to act. It’ll be interesting to see how people react. A lot of thought has gone into every single inch of it.”
