Kerrang! recently premiered Rarity’s tumultuous new single Drown Me Out. Describing the song, the band said: “Drown Me Out is about preserving the things that make you happy despite having to deal with recently deceased loved ones and the end of other projects that you found solitude in. Channeling your negative emotions and turning them into something positive. Those important things in your life may be gone but that doesn’t mean you can’t create something beautiful despite the absence of what used to make you happy.”
The dark track, exploring nihilism, death, and generally bleak themes, is a preview into Rarity's forthcoming sophomore effort, The Longest Lonesome, out August 30th via New Damage Records. For their first album, I Couldn’t Be Weaker, the Canadian five-piece worked with Derek Henderson (Knuckle Puck, Real Friends) and Derek Discanio (State Champs) to create a dynamic emo journey.
