Bring Me The Horizon kicked off their massive Malta weekender event in style last night (May 26), surprise-dropping a new track during their DJ set.
Entitled Strangers, the newbie already had fans belting the chorus of 'We’re just a room full of strangers / Looking for something to save us', judging by videos uploaded to social media following the set.
And it seems to fit the vibe of what frontman Oli Sykes described when talking about new music, telling Kerrang! recently that the band's aim is to “make this thing that feels nostalgic but progressive and futuristic”.
Explaining his mindset going into their next Post Human EP, the vocalist reflected, “It’s not healthy to always be like, ‘We’ve got to raise the bar!’ But at the same time we have to, especially when it feels like there’s more eyes on us than ever. Sometimes we think, ‘Oh, the best thing to do now is to put out a big, stock rock song,’ when all eyes are on you, something digestible that anyone can listen to, but it’s not in our hearts. We want to be progressive; we want to be weird; we don’t want to be a regular band.”
