After parting ways with I Prevail back in May 2025, vocalist Brian Burkheiser has properly launched his new project Scatterbrain.

Their first release is a cover of Taylor Swift’s 2017 single Look What You Made Me Do, with Brian sharing in an accompanying message: “To my fans: This year forced me to pivot in ways I never expected, and it tested me more than I can explain. But through it all, your support has meant everything.

“I’m excited to finally share a song with you. I chose this cover because it truly resonates with me and serves as a nod to what first sparked my career. I’m still working toward the day I can release my original music, but for now, I’m grateful to have found a way to put a piece of art into the world.”

Teasing what’s to come from Scatterbrain, a description on the project’s YouTube channel explains: “Navigating years of personal turbulence and industry chaos, Brian is stepping into his own world: a genre-bending project fuelled by raw emotion, reinvention and mental-health awareness. Scatterbrain blends rock, hip-hop, pop and everything in between, reflecting the highs, lows and breakthroughs that define the human experience.”
