BABYMETAL officially confirm new member MOMOMETAL

It’s official: BABYMETAL are a trio again with Okazaki Momoko joining them under the stage name MOMOMETAL.

Fresh from the release of their excellent new album THE OTHER ONE, BABYMETAL have confirmed that they’re a trio once again, officially welcoming in newest member Okazaki Momoko.

Having been with the band since 2019 as one of their ‘Avengers’ (backing dancers), Okazaki Momoko joins SU-METAL and MOAMETAL under the stage name MOMOMETAL. Before joining BABYMETAL, Okazaki Momoko was a contestant on the show Girls Planet 999 in 2021; and before that, she was a member of Japanese idol girl group Sakura Gakuin.

The news was announced on April 1 – which to most of us is of course April Fool’s Day, but in the world of BABYMETAL it’s also FOX DAY, during which special announcements are made. That evening they all performed at the PIA ARENA MM in Yokohama for their BLACK NIGHT show, with CLEAR NIGHT following on Sunday.
