Alter Bridge have unveiled another huge new single and video, Playing Aces.

“The term Playing Aces ties in with the gambling analogy of risking everything regardless of how many times you’ve failed in life,” explains frontman Myles Kennedy. “It’s a last-ditch effort to come out on top.”

The track follows recent singles Silent Divide and What Lies Within, all three of which are taken from Alter Bridge’s new self-titled eighth album, which is due out on January 9 via Napalm.

Speaking to Ola Englund recently about the decision to simply name the LP Alter Bridge, Myles joked that it was because they were “fucking lazy”, but then said that, “There was really no rhyme or reason. There was no, ‘Oh, this is a statement.’ We keep using the word reset. I don’t know what that actually means (laughs). It sounds good! I don’t know if it was needed, but I feel like this definitely sums up the consistent thread throughout all these records, which is that we’re a riff-based band with melody. That’s just kind of it is what it is.”
