All Time Low Covered My Chemical Romance's I'm Not Okay (I Promise)

At their final show of 2019, All Time Low saw the year out with a bang by covering My Chemical Romance's I'm Not Okay (I Promise).

The Baltimore pop-punks were performing at the last night of their Ten Years And It's Still… Nothing Personal tour at the Starland Ballroom in New Jersey – the home of My Chem – when they decided to drop in a brilliant rendition of the legendary 2004 emo smash single, in between Sick Little Games and Hello, Brooklyn.

The surprise cover arrived just days after My Chemical Romance's huge live return – which, incidentally, was also kicked off by I'm Not Okay as their opening song. At the show, Kerrang! caught up with many fans in attendance to find out what the band mean to them, with MCR's first-ever pre-label manager, Sarah Lewitinn, explaining: “If you ever heard a My Chem song on the radio and didn’t want to drop everything you were doing to sing along, you were missing a bit of innocence in your life. Seeing them reunite reminds me of a time when it was still okay to dream bombastically and expect those dreams to come true.”
