QOTSA announce Alive In The Catacombs album and film
Queens Of The Stone Age have revealed details of their Alive In The Catacombs audio-visual release, capturing the first-ever concert held in the famous French landmark.
Ahead of A Minecraft Movie’s release in April, you can listen to I Feel Alive from the soundtrack – and, as well as vocals by Steve (played by Jack Black), the song features some very special guests…
Jack Black has reunited with his old pal Dave Grohl for a song from A Minecraft Movie.
Ahead of the release of the film in cinemas on April 4, I Feel Alive from the accompanying soundtrack has been unveiled – and, as well as featuring Jack Black doing his thing as Steve, the single includes the Foo Fighters legend on drums, Queens Of The Stone Age guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen, Jellyfish’s Roger Manning on keys, pop superstar Mark Ronson on bass and rhythm guitar, and background vocals from co-star Danielle Brooks, who plays Dawn.
A Minecraft Movie also stars Jason Momoa, Emma Myers, Sebastian Hansen and Jennifer Coolidge, and is of course based on the best-selling video game ever. Directed by Jared Hess, a synopsis describes how, “Four misfits – Garrett ‘The Garbage Man’ Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers) and Dawn (Brooks) – find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination.
“To get back home, they’ll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like Piglins and Zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve (Black). Together, their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative… the very skills they need to thrive back in the real world.”
